A graduate of Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas with a BA Degree in Business Administration. She has been actively engaged in the day-to-day growth of the business since 1972 and has also personally hosted travel experiences to all continents of the world during this time. Marilyn is also active in her community, serving as an officer and board member of multiple civic organizations, including Past President and current board member of Pilot Club with an emphasis on assisting brain damaged individuals of all ages. During her tenure as Membership Chair and President her leadership and resulting membership growth resulted in the Great Bend organization being recognized as one of only two clubs in the world (the other in Tokyo, Japan) for having created the most outstanding membership development programs. She also currently serves as a board member of the Golden Belt Community Concert Association. Although retired, she continues her love of travel in non-professional ways. She is the mother of two daughters; and is blessed with one grandson. Her husband is Larry.
As officer and owner, Paula utilizes her 30 years of travel experience with Please Go Away™ Vacations to oversee the daily operations of the corporation and to manage multiple specially-created "private label" departures throughout the world for various private organizations; as well as the personally-hosted groups division of Please Go Away™ Vacations itself. She has been recognized nationally by multiple professional travel organizations for her innovative capabilities and the effective management procedures she has developed. Her pleasant personality and uncanny ability to retain multiple factoids of useful information have also made her a favorite personal hostess on numerous group travel experiences she has personally escorted throughout the world. In 2015 she was named "One of the Top 25 Travel Agents in the United States" by TravelAgent Magazine. Paula is a native of Hoisington, KS and attended Barton County Community College. She and her husband, Kenneth, have 3 adult children and 7 grandchildren, including a set of twins.
Born and raised in Pawnee Rock, KS, Larry earned his AB Degree in Political Science from Fort Hays State University and his Doctor of Laws Degree from Washburn University School of Law. An active practicing attorney for numerous years heading his own firm, he retired from the practice in the mid-70s to enjoy full time his passion for travel and the creation and development of successful business opportunities after his wife, Marilyn, had purchased a tiny travel agency. Working primarily behind the scenes of daily front office operations, his efforts are directed toward working in the creation and promotion of successful travel programs for multiple organizations, resulting in membership benefits packages and monetarily rewarding programs for the organizations themselves. As he has developed, and actually participated in, travel programs on all 7 continents and all the oceans of the world for these organizations, Larry has pioneered the concept of “win-win” relationships utilizing his personally developed “3-Legged Stool” and "3 Promotional Pillars" concepts of promotional programs and service.

Cora was born and raised in Great Bend, is married, and has two sons. With a background of Business Administrative Technology combined with an extensive grasp of today's technological world that affects travel in so many ways she has been a breath of fresh air as we pcontinue our dramatic growth in all aspects of travel, particularly with those independent-minded travelers who prefer more freedom for personal choices when traveling. This important group of travelers is searching for better ways to secure their travel arrangements because of the challenges of lost time and money so many faced with their "internet phantom" travel arrangements they had made before the onset of the COVID shutdown.
Another area Cora concentrates on is that of destination weddings and honeymoons, another aspect of travel that is burgeoning in today's travel world.
A native of Southwest Kansas and graduate of Kansas University, Krista and her husband Dr. Perry Smith, are long-time residents of Great Bend. For the past 16 years she has been a positive factor in the continuing growth of Cheyenne Travel/Please Go Away(tm) Vacations by personally hosting our select "FEATURE" TRAVEL groups to all seven continents of the world. She is active in the community, volunteering many hours of her time for the betterment of those around her, as well as serving on numerous boards. Her hobbies are many, including serious biking adventures in various locales. As an outside representative of our company, she is able to maintain her active personal lifestyle, while at the same time able to increase her presence and impact on our organization's continuing growth by assisting in the planning, promotion, and operation of our personally escorted and value added "FEATURE" TRAVEL group travel division. She and Perry have two children and 2 grandchildren.
Jack and Lela Jean share the same birth date, having been born within minutes of each other in the same hospital. They both grew up in the Pawnee Rock area, and attended Pawnee Rock High School the same as Larry. After graduation they proceeded to obtain degrees in higher education and to solidify their unique life proximity to each other that began at birth by becoming husband and wife and raising a family. Each possessed, and continues to possess, a love of travel. Together they have explored and experienced much of the world, arranging their travel experiences, both individual and group, with Please Go Away(tm) Vacations. Each possesses a pleasing personality, combined with a commitment and ability to do what is right.
Born and raised in Great Bend with a BA degree in Art Education and a MS degree in Education earned at Fort Hays State University, Kim enjoyed 31 years of teaching in the Hays school district. While attending FHSU she met and married Doug who hailed from Barton and Stafford counties. After 35 years in Hays Kim and Doug moved to Shawnee, KS to be closer to family and where Kim has since become involved with the Social Security Administration and Doug is employed by the US Department of Agriculture. Traveling has been in the past and plans are for it to continue to be in the future an important component of Kim and Doug’s discretionary time. |
