Detailed brochure and additional information is easily obtained by contacting Please Go Away™ Vacations at either 800-362-9347 or answers@travelpleasegoaway.com. Our full time travel professionals will personally answer all your questions – you will “never” talk to a machine.

Listed below are several unusual facts that make Alaska an exceptionally worthwhile experience to add to your travel achievements.

  • There are more active glaciers and ice fields in Alaska than in the rest of the inhabited world (you’ll see many glaciers “up close” and “hear” them calve).

  • The population of Alaska is only 670,053 and compared to the population of bears in Alaska, there is 1 bear for every 21 people.

  • Alaska is the largest state in the union, covering 570,373 square miles, approximately one fifth of the entire United States.

  • Juneau is the only capital in the U.S. accessible only by boat or plane (you’ll visit this state capital city).

  • Giant vegetables are common due to the extremely long days in summer, which account for a record cabbage weighing in at 94 pounds (you’ll see them).

  • Mt. McKinley is the tallest mountain in the U.S. (Alaska is home to 16 of the 20 highest mountains in the country).

BEST HOTEL LOCATION - ONE OF MANY PERKS ON WASHINGTON, DC TOUR

Washington DC

A proven adage of real estate development is “Location, Location, Location”.

The same is true with quality travel experiences. A rule of thumb to use in quickly judging the quality of any travel tour is the location of the hotels included in the itinerary. Lesser quality experiences often use hotels that are “miles removed” from where participants need to be. In fact, many such itineraries require tour members to be subjected to long, inconvenient, tiring, time-wasting rides and transfers. Always check the location of the hotels in any tour itinerary.

The upcoming WASHINGTON, DC WEEK, June 7/13 is a perfect example of a “high quality” travel experience using the absolute best hotel location in all of our Nation’s Capital City. Walk out the front door of the hotel and the Capitol Building is just to your right, a little over a block away. Walk out the front door of the hotel and you are just one block away from the world-famous Union Station, which houses the world’s largest room - filled with shops and eateries of all kinds. It is also from Union Station that two of the day-long “in depth” sightseeing tours our groups enjoy, featuring Washington, DC and its historical surroundings in nearby Virginia (like Washington’s Mt. Vernon, historic Alexandria, etc.), depart. Also, walk out of the hotel and just across the street is the Smithsonian Post Office Museum.

To fully appreciate the uniqueness of the hotel – and its “one-of-a-kind” location - visit its website at www.phoenixparkhotel.com and take a virtual tour. The Irish Pub in the hotel was a favorite haunt of renowned Speaker of the House ‘Tip” O’Neill. Past tour members have seen the likes of Hillary Clinton, Dennis Hastert, and other politicos frequenting the hotel. Other encounters that have occurred elsewhere on this incomparable travel experience have been: meeting and visiting with Barack Obama, having an unscheduled tour of the Whitehouse kitchens and living quarters, and observing President Reagan’s cortege from a nearby street as it traveled to repose in the Capitol Building.

An example of the important role hotel location plays in this WASHINGTON, DC WEEK is an included experience featured in each year’s special departure. A leisurely morning stroll begins at the hotel’s front door and heads towards the nearby Capitol Building. En route our group passes Fox News Headquarters, stops for photos at the famous pulsating water fountains that silhouette the shape of the Capitol, stop to rest on a bench commemorating the location of George Washington’s surveyor’s cabin, and quickly arrive at the tree-covered walkways leading to the west front of the Capitol overlooking the Mall. More photos. Captured scenes include the Capitol, the Washington Monument, the Reflecting Pool, the Lincoln Memorial, a bronze statue of Ulysses S. Grant astride his war mount, magnificent statues reflecting the ravages of the Civil War upon man and beast, and museums bordering either side of the Mall. It’s then a few more feet to the Botanical Gardens and other Smithsonian Museums. Everything just described is within easy walking distance of our hotel, The Phoenix Park Plaza.

SOUTH AFRICA REPLACES EAST AFRICA!

Africa
This is a great last-minute opportunity to experience the very best of South Africa.

We had a safari scheduled to East Africa, but political uprisings have made us decide to replace that experience with a safe experience in South Africa. We have been able to negotiate and secure prime space on a replacement departure that will leave May 22. It features wild animals, Safaris, some beautiful cities and country vistas, and one of the natural wonders of the world – VICTORIA FALLS.

In addition to securing sufficient spaces to accommodate everyone that was originally reserved to go to East Africa we have been able to secure a few additional spaces to South Africa that will remain available until 5:00 p.m. (CST) Tuesday, February 19.

Again, the area is politically safe and does not have the problems that are currently present in Kenya.

There are a number of advantages. Among them are:

  1. 2 days longer.

  2. The exact same price.

  3. Politically safe area.

  4. A waiver of any additional visa expense.

  5. It includes one of the world’s most famous game parks – KRUGER NATIONAL PARK. In this park we will have the opportunity to “shoot with a camera” the “Big 5” of African wild animals. Game runs will be accomplished in the traditional safari vans allowing for maximum “up close” viewing and picture taking.

  6. In Zambia we will have the additional thrilling experience of an actual ELEPHANT BACK SAFARI. This is where we will ride atop an elephant and travel through the bush with a guide in search of local wildlife.

  7. It includes one of the 7 natural wonders of the world – VICTORIA FALLS (the largest curtain of water in the world).

  8. Our hotel while we are at the falls will be the world-famous Zambezi Sun Hotel located adjacent to the falls. (Past groups of ours, while staying at this hotel, have actually had wild zebra come up on the manicured lawns and drink from the swimming pool).

  9. A highlight while at the Zambezi Sun Hotel will be an included Zambezi River Sunset Cruise experiencing the wilds of the river along its shores and in its waters.

  10. We’ll have the opportunity to interact with the locals as we visit their open-air curio markets full of handcrafted goods. Our pictures of these locations will rival those one sees in “National Geographic”.

HOW TO MAKE MONEY FOR YOURSELF OR YOUR ORGANIZATION WITH TRAVEL!

Everyone wants to travel. Those that don’t travel can be placed into 3 categories:

  1. Those who “can’t” travel because of health, financial or personal challenges.

  2. Those who “don’t know how” to travel.

  3. Those who “are afraid” to travel.

With proper development and programs (both of which we can assist you with) categories 2 and 3 above can be moved into the much larger group of persons that “do” travel, thereby dramatically increasing the opportunity for you to realize profitable results with travel. We can show you how to accomplish this with our proven procedures developed in over 40 years of providing travel opportunities for persons to reward themselves and explore every continent and all the oceans of the world.

Travel is currently the second largest industry in the world, second only to health care. Consider:

  1. The annual Travel Industry Association forecast is that the U.S. travel industry is expected to post gains in nearly all sectors in 2008.

  2. Travel spending by domestic and international visitors in 2008 is forecast to increase 5.2% to $778.2 billion, up from 2007’s $740 billion.

  3. 45.8% of Americans intend to take a vacation within 6 months.

  4. The State Department issued a record 18.4 million passports in fiscal year 2007, compared to 12.1 million in 2006.

  5. The number of visitors to Alaska has increased steadily in the past 20 years, with 2 million visitors last summer, a 3% increase over the previous year.

  6. One-half of U.S. adults, or 98 million people, have taken an adventure trip in the past 5 years.

  7. 75% of U.S. adult travelers attended a cultural activity or event while on a trip in the past year.

  8. The learning aspect of travel is important to U.S. travelers, with about 30.2 million adults having taken an education trip to learn or improve a skill, sport or hobby in the past 3 years.

  9. 35% of U.S. adults have traveled to a family reunion in the past 3 years.

  10. 34 new ships have been announced and ordered to come “on line” and start sailing in the next 4 years – educated smart CEOs and financial comptrollers are making the cruise line decisions based upon solid research and anticipated return on investment. Said another way, they are banking on continued demand and growth in travel.

Leisure vacation and cruise travel is growing in 2 separate pillars of growth:

  1. Personally hosted “group” travel experiences. This growth pillar primarily attracts singles and couples that desire the comfort, security, ease and camaraderie of traveling with a group of individuals sharing common interests.

  2. Individual “on-your-own” travel experiences. This growth pillar primarily attracts individuals, couples, groups of friends, organizations, etc. that prefer a more unstructured experience, but who still prefer much of the “skeleton framework” of the experience to be in place.

This demand and continuing growth of travel creates a wonderful opportunity for individuals, groups and organizations to “fill a need” and realize possible dramatic financial results.

By practicing the “Rule of 5 Magic Words” and the “Rule of 9” of travel promotion (if you are interested in allowing our full time travel professionals to assist you with exploring the opportunities that await you we will be pleased to provide you with an explanation of these rules along with a special report containing much additional and useful information) your success is almost assured in capitalizing on the opportunities awaiting you.

Reproduced below is an article that I recently wrote for our Travel Talk Newsletter. It describes generally the avenue that we can assist you with in realizing your goals.

Are You A Group & Don’t Know It?

You may be, but what difference does it make? Or, more importantly, what are we talking about? The following information can prove “very” beneficial to you. As a leader in the travel industry that regularly works with all major cruise lines and tour operators throughout the world we are able to negotiate a “group designation” for persons traveling together, like a family, a small group of friends, a church or organization that does fun activities for their members, etc. It normally takes between 10 to 15 persons traveling together to constitute a group. But, when this happens the group benefits flow for the persons traveling together. FREE travel, reduced group pricing, and various perks are just a few of the benefits you receive. These cost you nothing - you don’t have to do anything extra. To see actual examples of families, groups of friends and various organizations we have helped and are helping to receive group benefits, like FREE travel, go to our website at www.travelpleasegoaway.com - click on the “Custom Groups” tab. This page will have a number of names on the right hand side. Click on names and go to a description of their “Custom Group”.   Smoky Hills Public Television is one such group (see their special insert). Let us help you qualify as a “group”. You do nothing extra to get these benefits. SPECIAL OPPORTUNITYGet 1 FREE trip for just 8 travelers on any of more than 400 Globus Family of Brands departures - Globus, Avalon Waterways (river cruises), Cosmos, & Monograms.

To illustrate the dramatic potential of such a plan properly developed, administered and promoted the pro forma calculations of an actual group leader we are currently working with on an Alaska cruise/tour for 2009 appear here:

Ø       12 paying passengers                Your trip is free

Ø       24 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $4,500

Ø       36 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $9,000

Ø       48 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $13,500

Ø       60 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $18,000

Ø       72 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $22,500

Ø      120 paying passengers                Your trip is free and you receive $40,500

Let us know if you are interested in learning more about the opportunities that await you. We “will not” ask you to buy anything. We “will” show you how we can support you in producing “win-win” results.

In the meantime, check out our website further. Go to www.travelpleasegoaway.com and click on the “Custom Groups” tab. When this special page opens you will find good information and you will also see a number of links on the right hand side of the page of individuals, families, and organizations that are beneficiaries of our one-of-a-kind promotional support program. You will see actual examples of what they have done – and are doing - to capture the benefits that are present when travel is used as a fund-raiser in combination with a benefit tool for all those involved.
